Healthy Illinois Campaign Family,
Today we announce the departure of our Campaign Director, Jesse Hoyt, who will be pursuing his Master’s Degree in Salamanca, Spain after four years leading the Healthy Illinois Campaign, and extend a warm welcome to Graciela Guzman, who will be assuming the role effective immediately.
As a member of the Healthy Illinois steering committee since the inception of the campaign, Graciela has been involved in our work over the past four years in numerous capacities, including through giving presentations, leading our organizer retreats, and joining our advocacy work in Springfield. Graciela most recently joins us after nearly two years as Coalition Manager for POCIL, where she led a robust legislative campaign and worked with partners across the state to protect and advance healthcare access for all. Her passion for health care, community, and helping others is derived from her own family’s early experiences immigrating to the United States from El Salvador to escape the Salvadoran Civil War. We are excited to have her on board as we begin this new chapter in the push for health care for all in Illinois.
